Do you need to know about the hillary-tent?
What is a Hillary-tent?
The tent range is made for Sears by a variety of tent manufacturers that include Sunk Yung, Jin Woong (Northpole) and Wenzel.
They are aimed at the budget camper so quality and materials are not as high as the big name brands. They suit those who do one or two short camping trips a year, or a novice experimenting before taking the financial plunge for a better one.
If you are going to do lot’s of camping then maybe it will not last the distance. There are some who have used these for many seasons and it all depends on how much punishment you put it through
The Hillary-tent suits novice campers?
It is advisable that any novice try out either a cheaper tent just to see whether they are going to like it. This suits that requirement well. Spending a lot of money on an expensive tent right up front is not a good idea. The Hillary Sears will suit those on a tight budget.
The Hillary will keep you dry and snug however things that are liable to cause you some annoyance include the zippers as they often catch and seize on the seams.
This also occurs with any zipper so just use some care and you will not have a problem. Also the poles are a little lightweight and will bend in high winds so don’t plan extreme weather camping in this price and quality range.
Of course also poles will bend if the tent is not erected properly and you should seek some wind sheltered area
The Hillary-tent from Sears will suit the occasional and novice camper on a budget
